Food Bank
Westdale continues to do a wonderful job contributing to the food bank. Please bring non-perishable food items for the food bank box located in the Narthex. Donations are picked up the last Sunday of the month. THANK YOU!

Beef on a Bun
The membership and pastoral care division invite you to join us after the service today in Henderson Hall for their annual mouth-watering “Beef on a Bun” fundraising lunch. Tickets are $10/person and can be purchased in advance before the service today, or at the door. Bring your appetites!

2011 Income Tax Receipts
Today (Feb 2nd) will be the last day to pick-up your 2011 income tax receipts from the table in the Narthex. It saves us a great deal in postage if they can be picked up in person. Next week we will mail out any remaining receipts. Some receipts have already been mailed out, so if they are not in the box expect them in the mail in then next week or two.

Wanted: Stewardship Secretary
Bev Annis, our volunteer Stewardship Secretary, is going to be stepping down from this very important role. After providing many years of dedication and dependable service to the congregation we have a need to find a replacement. Therefore; if you would be interested in assuming this role as part of your commitment to Westdale, please let Caroline (our Administrative Assistant), or John MacDonald know. Bev would be happy to speak with anyone as well to explain the role.

Aprons Wanted
We are looking for old, different, vintage, retro and unusual aprons from different countries for our very special Mother’s Day APRON fashion show. Ask your friends and family if they would have anything we could borrow. We will take very good care of them and return them after the show. If you are interested in making any aprons, this would be greatly appreciated. These aprons will be for sale at the show. Next week we will have some fabric available and patterns if you need them. Valentine’s Day Coffee Time
Following the service on February 12th, please join us in Henderson Hall for a special Valentine’s coffee time. Come and enjoy a “sweet treat”.

The Unified Board meets this Wednesday, February 8th at 7:30pm in the Overflow room.

Our Daily Bread
Copies of the next edition (March-May) are available to be picked up from the table in the Narthex. Donations are appreciated!

New Members
A “New Member” service is planned for next Sunday (February 12th). If you would like to become a member of the faith community at Westdale United Church, please speak to John MacDonald and contact Caroline in the office.
