An Exciting Opportunity!

January 2021 - UPDATE

Are you looking for a fresh and exciting opportunity to lead a vibrant and strong congregation on their spiritual journey into the future?  Consider our 37-year-old Westdale United Church in the west end of Peterborough, Ontario - a city of 85,000, about 125 kilometers northeast of Toronto, in the heart of cottage country.

The 400 plus members of Westdale are seeking a full-time Minister who is energetic, has an engaging, uplifting preaching style and effective pastoral skills, coupled with the passion to inspire, support, and lead our Community of Faith’s journey.  Are you that person?  If so, we would love to talk with you.

Our Search Committee is receiving and reviewing applications from potential ministers, with the ultimate goal of welcoming a new spiritual leader to Westdale.

See our Community of Faith Profile which includes a tour of Westdale, at the United Church of Canada,

Please send your cover letter and resume to Stephanie MacDonald, Chairperson of the Westdale Minister Search Team at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Welcome Rev. Lynda Hodgins

Rev. Lynda has come out of retirement, for a second time, to help us at Westdale.

Her most recent full-time position was at Harmony Pastoral Charge which included Millbrook, Cavan, Bailieboro and Springville. This was eventually followed by a retired supply minister position at Northminster United Church in the north part of Peterborough.

Rev. Lynda will be with us at Westdale until the end of June 2021.

A Thank You From Rev. Bev

To the entire Westdale Congregation...

It is with deep gratitude that I thank Westdale United Church for the lovely Celtic Cross Quilt Throw that I received from the congregation upon my retirement.  In particular thank you to Gail LeBel and Karen Lukaszewicz for their gift of crafting the quilt on behalf of all of you.  As well thank you to Kathy Fitchett who found a quilter who worked their magic after the quilt had been crafted by Gail and Karen.  I hope that many of you were able to see the quilt when you viewed my Farewell Worship of December 27th.  As you know the way in which the Celtic tradition expresses being Christian resonates very deeply for me.  I will treasure this gift as I treasure our time together over the last 6 years.

Blessings and hugs, Rev. Bev
